20 Million Copies Sold!
Posted by General_II on August 24th, 2008 @ 2:32 p.m.
Recently, Age Community announced that over twenty-million copies of the "Age of" series -From Age of Empires to Age of Mythology to Age of Empires III- have been sold. To put this in perspective, Age of Empires III had sold over two-million copies last October.

This is a milestone for a series that has repeatedly defined the rts.

Be sure to keep playing those games, and stop by the different "Age of" heavens while you're at it!

  • Ashigaru Balance Poll Results In!
    Posted by CookieCrisp13 on August 21st, 2008 @ 01:15 a.m.
How would the community prefer to balance Ashigarus if it were a majority vote? Here is how:

Many (170) support directly editing the colonial stats of ashigarus, much in the same way that the ideal gendarme nerf would go.

Less, but still a decent amount (101), would prefer to balance the existing upgrade cards, seeing as they contribute to the overall late colonial power of the ashigaru unit. This includes the consulate.

Sixty-eight young fellows would prefer to simply reduce the shrine bonus or indirectly nerf the Ashigarus by slowing down the economy.

Just as many (61) would prefer to tweak the Daimyo's powers to maybe affect only the base stats of a unit, or to just cut the aura down to one Daimyo maximum. Heck, while we're at it, just leave the stacking effect and reduce each one's advantage.

The minority here are the people who prefer to nerf the special wonders that the Japs have, or a rebalance. Reduce the golden pavilion upgrades? Half the shrine's affect? Reduce trainable Daimyos? these people might enjoy some of those nerfs.

    Well, there is my analysis.

    Last Chance For AoE3 Questionairres!
    Posted by CookieCrisp13 on August 20th, 2008 @ 08:10 a.m.
Recently, I have designed a questionnaire about AOE3. The questionnaire is to investigate AOE3 gamers’ perception of the potential gaming benefits of playing the game and gamers’ level of involvement in the game. This questionnaire takes about 10 minutes to complete. Please download the questionnaire from http://www.badongo.com/file/10626604and send the complete questionnaire to a28819580@hotmail.com

    Thank you for the help.

Lots of people are having problems logging into ESO2. Those who were in as of about 1 hour ago, can't do anything and their HCs won't load, chats don't refresh, etc.
Hopefully they can act upon it soon so that the late nighters like me can play!

The Discussion can be found here or at any thread visible in AgeCommunity.

    "Tapir Witch" Challenge/Contest with Prizes!
    Posted by CookieCrisp13 on August 08th, 2008 @ 5:25 p.m.
Moshe Levi, our beloved CSO specialist, is at it again with another great scenario,

"The Tapir Witch Chronicles: Immortal Cows"

    The description to quote Moshe-
In this scenario you can capture Sacred Cows and send them to your Fire Circle.

The Fire Circle will break the Immortal Cow spell and the animals will return to their original human form.
These powerful mercenaries will then join your army and fight for you.

After you defeat your opponents the Tapir Witches will appear with their armies of wild animals.

The Tapir Witches will turn your army units into Cows once they are within their line of site.

The first Player/Team who discovers the solution on how to defeat the Tapir Witches will win two game prizes.

After that everybody else can defeat the witches for a chance to win 1 of the 10 remaining prizes.
I will be giving away these 14 RTS game prizes for this event:

    3 Universe at War
1 Company of Heroes Gold Edition
    1 Command and Conquer 3
2 Star Wars: Empire at War
1 Lord of the Rings: The Middle Earth II
    1 Rise of Legends
1 Warhammer 40000: Dawn of War
    2 Spellforce 2
    1 Rush for Berlin
    1 Rome: Total War
    Awesome!

The discussion thread can be found here

Hurry up! People are looking for the way to defeat them already!

H2O vs MrMilo Broadcast Tomorrow (Sunday) @ 1:00 EST
    Posted by CookieCrisp13 on August 02nd, 2008 @ 5:37 p.m.
A battle of the bulge, if you may so call it. Tomorrow will bring a great game with two of the many revered experts.

    Ding Ding!

On one side, at the peak of his prime, weighing in at a hefty 48.3 PR we have the Indian injurer, _H2O!

On the other, bouncing on his toes is ES's very own expert, the German Gargantuan, Mr. Milo!

Parfait himself will be narrarating the game live at its start time, 1:00 tomorrow. There will be other games, but they do not have a set schedule.

Visit here for discussion of the match and RTSBroadcast.net for viewing of the game tomorrow!

Also, check out the poll about the match ------->

*Edit* The poll results are in!
    Mr. Milo: 30
    _H2O: 23

    Mr. Milo's Hotkey Guide
    Posted by CookieCrisp13 on July 31st, 2008 @ 10:29 a.m.

Mr. Milo has released 'fingerprints' of his very own game- his hotkey list! This includes using the mouse buttons on the side for the Explorer as well as idle military. (for me personally i use them for building a house and idle vills)

He organizes the units and buildings in order that they are shown, visually, as opposed to the default one which goes by name.
You want to set up your hotkeys so that the ones you use the most are the easiest to use. This means grouping hotkeys near where your hand rests well, which for me is with my pinky finger on the Caps Lock key (remember that's my TC hotkey). From there, I use the three rows of letters as my building construction, the first for the most basic and often-used economy buildings
Go check it out here and download the file here
